This class is geared toward those who have already learned the basics of kayaking, but want to feel confident in their paddling ability while in a traditional kayak. We practice some advanced strokes, edging, and bracing, but a majority of the class is spent learning rescue techniques. This is a three hour class that happens in either a lagoon or a slough, so the water won't be quite as cold as the bay or the ocean, but it isn't warm, so it is important to dress accordingly, as a large amount of time will be spent getting in and out of the water. If you need to purchase gear for the class, it is 10% off if you are signed up for a class. |
